Lefkada is the only island that can be reached by car. A traffic flow bridge is connecting it with Akarnania.
Lefkada is 378km from Athens and 420km from Thessaloniki. There are everyday courses by KTEL buses from and to Lefkada.
The submarine tunnel Preveza – Aktio connects northwest Greece and the port of Igoumenitsa to the island. Rio- Antirio bridge connects the island with Patra’s port.
There are every day courses from Nydri and Vasiliki to Meganisi, Kefalonia and Ithaca. Tourist boats organize daily tours to the island’s and beaches around the island of Lefkada.

Aktio’s international airport is only 18km from the town of Lefkada. There are every day flights from the airports of Spata and Thessaloniki.
During summer period, from April to October, there are flights from various European cities to Aktio.
